"My name is Taryn and I'm a South African who has recently re-located to Northern Ireland. I have hands-on experience of wine, having owned and farmed a vineyard in the Overbeg in South Africa. I have a wide knowledge of South African Wines and a pasion for farms, families and the stories behind the wines. So please come and chat to me if you would like to talk South Africa or viticulture. I can't wait to broaden my knowledge about wines of the world and look forward to this opportunity as part of the JN Wine team."
“My name is Stephen. I started with JN Wine as a delivery driver and have since become part of the retail team. Getting to meet our customers through delivering helped me realise how amazing the wine industry is and it made me want to experience and learn more about wine. From that glass of wine that gets you over that long day, to the bottle that brings friends and family together, whatever the reason I am always happy to guide you in the right direction.”
"My name's Seán and although I have only been part of the team for a short time, I have already secured my position as resident wine geek! Don’t hold that against me though, all aspects of wine and food intrigues me and fuels my passion for personalised customer service. From grape to grain, grown in the sun or in the rain, please come to JN Wine and pick my brain!"
"My name’s Alex. I entered the industry little over two years ago - working part-time while studying for a Masters in Ecology - and in that time I have caught the ‘wine bug’ to such an extent that I’ve decided to forego a further foray into academia and pursue a career in the wine trade here at JN Wine! I am currently studying for my WSET Level 3 Award in Wine & Spirits and would consider myself very much at the beginning of my wine journey – so no need to feel intimidated or fear being scoffed at by lofty wine intelligentsia; if you spot me in JN I’ll be happy to show you around and convey the products and stories attached to them as best I can to help you make the choice that’s best for you!"
“My name’s Jane, and in 2000 I became Ireland’s first female Master of Wine. My experience in the wine industry is wide ranging, having written for a number of publications, hosted my own wine course and been a judge in many awards, such as Decanter World Wine Awards in London. Having this many strings to my bow means I am perfectly positioned to help you with all of your fine wine enquiries. I love all things food and wine so if you are looking for the perfect dinner party treat, I’m sure to be able to help you out”
"My name is Aidan. I have been working in the wine trade for over 3 years now, a decision which came about by total chance! Having graduated university with few job opportunities, I found myself working in a small, independent off-licence, which kick-started a more in-depth interest in wine, beer and spirits. I grew up in Saintfield, in a household where food and wine was always linked hand in hand, which further deepened my interest. Pairing wine and food is one of my passions, and I’m always open to experimentation – sometimes successful, sometimes not. I don’t discriminate when it comes to wine; sparking to sweet, bone dry white to weird and wonderful reds, I’ll try the lot. I love to talk, so please come in and introduce yourself to me, I would be very happy to offer my advice and listen to your suggestions as well!
