Les Barnabés are shaped by the alluvium of the Loire and the gravel of the Vienne in the town of Savigny-en-Véron. After vatting the uncrushed berries, the must is gradually brought to 25°C, thus releasing primary floral and fruity aromas of great freshness, such as blackcurrant, raspberry and violet.

This cuvée blooms from its earliest youth between 14 and 16°C and can be enjoyed with white and roast meats.

In the beautiful country of Véron, cradled between the Loire and the Vienne, the Domaine Olga Raffault has passed on its expertise in making its Chinon wines for five generations. Les Barnabés comes from vineyards in the commune of Savigny-en-Véron on the alluvial soils of the Loire and the gravelly soils of the Vienne, Close to the Raffault winery. On the Chinon style spectrum, it straddles both styles, even if it is closer to the lighter end: fragrant and open with those defining aromas and yet with the definite fine tannins and fresh acidity to age well for at least five years in bottle.
