      Tasting Notes and Description
Dark chocolate, violets and mint capture the nose, revealing a expansive soft palate layered in berry fruits. Supported by fine grain tannins, the wine encompassing a classic structure, one that can be enjoyed on release and or cellared short to medium term.

The Coonawarra Series represents a logical extension to the long established Terra Rossa and First Growth labels. The Shiraz is made from fruit grown at the northern end of Coonawarra’s famous cigar strip of Terra Rossa soil. Whilst the Cabernet Sauvignon and Chardonnay are sourced predominantly from the Williams vineyard in Southern Coonawarra, only a short five minute tractor ride from the Parker Estate Abbey vineyard. The Coonawarra Series wines have a generous and approachable flavour profile in their youth, yet like all Parker wines, retain the ability to age with careful cellaring.

Made from fruit grown on the Williams family vineyard in Southern Coonawarra - located just behind the Parker Cellar Door - the grapes were picked at optimum ripeness following an exceptional growing season. Fermentation took place in static fermenters before maturation in French oak followed by final blending and bottling.

"The great grape of Coonawarra from a very fine vintage gives us a wine which promises much. Sourced from a number of sites around the region, they use a Pellenc Select Harvester to pick the grapes – this nifty piece of equipment can destem the grapes in the vineyard, giving the winemaker immediate access to perfect berries. Dark maroon, there is an earthy note here on the nose with blackfruits, plums, cedar, tobacco leaves and cold tea. We move to more chocolatey notes on the palate. Silky tannins but they provide deceptive grip here and promote excellent length. This wine has a little more complexity and long term structure than others in this range. It is terrific value and should age and improve over the next eight years. Expect the score to go even higher over that period. Drink to 2031."
