Tralivio

Tralvio is the result of carefully selected and handpicked grapes in our best vineyards with an average age of 25 years and a south exposure to the sun. On a 17th century map, we found out that exactly our oldest vineyard was and still is located in an area anciently called Tralio. This is where Tralivio comes from and means "among the olive trees". For this reason, the bottle is dressed in green. The first vintage was in 1990. As with all the other wines soft pressing and stainless-steel tanks are used with much care as per the old, traditional methods. This is a very elegant and full-bodied wine. It is very versatile and wonderful to have with many different sorts of dishes.

Sartarelli Tralivio Verdicchio Superiore 2020

Of a lively and bright straw yellow colour. It opens with an elegant and alluring bouquet of aromatic spring herbs for developing then into aromas of acacia, linden, apricot and fresh almond. It also has citrus fruit aromas as well as a mineral scent. In the mouth it is very persistent. It is well balanced with a rich alcohol zing, acid freshness and sapidity. Characteristically it has a bitter almond finish, which is the typical recurring element of this varietal.

Charming with sushi, salmon and raw fish. It matches well with elaborated fish or white meat dishes, baked or grilled fish, lamb fricassee and even spicy food. It also pairs well with mushrooms, truffles and medium mature cheeses.

2017: Beginning to show some gentle development with aniseed, acacia and apricot notes on the nose. Citrus fruit still dominating on the palate with a persistent acidity and trademark fresh almond nuance on the finish. A lot of life ahead of it.

2013: A more temperature vintage, reflected in the less ripe fruit profile of this wine which is hitting full maturity. Rich golden colour, with fresh mushroom, dried rose and honey abounding on the nose and intensely savoury notes dominating on the palate, which is broad and enveloping, concluding with piquant green apple linden.

2012: There’s an almost Burgundian note to this vintage, which sings with white chocolate, yellow flowers and truffle notes on the nose. A very complete wine on the palate, with just the right balance of linearity and weight. Lemon preserve, oregano and finishing distinctly mineral.

2011: Beautiful development, with fresh straw, smoke and brioche on the nose. Excellent balance on the palate, with notes of dried apple, mango and caramel competing with the savoury tang. Owing to the eminent age, worthiness of this cuvée.

 Classico

Sartarelli Classico is the result of 100% Verdicchio grapes picked by hand in our youngest vineyards and then softly pressed. Its straw yellow colour with greenish reflections emphasises the quality of the grapes as well as the delicate techniques used during all the working phases. A simple, but not common wine, with white peach and elder hawthorn aromas. Fresh and sapid, soft on the palate, with good alcoholic structure and a slightly bitter almond aftertaste. As the typical expression of Verdicchio, the bottle is dressed in golden yellow.

Sartarelli Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi Classico 2021

"The 2021 Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi Classico is lively, with crushed rocks and sea spray giving way to zest of lime. It's pleasantly soft in nature, with crisp green apple and a building saline tension that mounts toward the close. A sweet and sour interplay of citrus lingers through the finale, leaving savoury herbal nuances through the close. This child of a warm vintage has a great balance of rich fruit and brilliant acidity. Drinking window: 2023-2026"

Balciana

Balciana grapes come from a 9 ½ hectare vineyard of 1990 with a north-east exposure at 300 metres above sea level. It is named after the area where this single vineyard is located, known in 1200 as "valsana", meaning the Healthy Valley. However, as often happens with most challenges, this one was won right from the very beginning. 1994 was the first vintage, when Patrizio decided to carry out an experiment and leave the grapes on the wines to see what would happen. That apparently unlucky and gruelling vineyard revealed itself as a treasure. This is how the story of Balciana began. It has an explosion of flavours and aromas. Tropical fruit notes. Dry, late harvest wine.

Sartarelli Balciana 2017

Nice intensity with an interesting nose of ripe and tropical fruits, sweet notes of honey, linden, spicy, citrus fruit, liquorice root and almonds. It is a very well-balanced wine in the mouth, a full-bodied wine with high alcohol content but at the same time still fresh and strongly sapid. It’s even more unique because of its strong, persistent smell and taste with an iodate finish.

Last December, at the International Wine Challenge in London, Balciana 2017 won the Italian White Trophy and was judged as one of the 30 best wines in the world. It has also just been judged as one of the 35 best white wines tasted by the international experts team at Decanter.

Passito

Sartarelli Passito is produced from 100% Verdicchio grapes picked by hand in October. These grape bunches are then put in special small crates in a properly ventilated room where they are left to shrivel for about six weeks. At the end of the drying process and after removing the ruined grapes from the bunches, the vinification process starts in December. Fermentation lasts from 35 to 40 days and then the refining process which follows is always carried out un stainless steel tanks. A perfect match with cheese, almond tarts and chocolate. A unique dessert wine, which keeps a good minerality and salinity and is not cloying sweet at all.

Sartarelli Passito 2020

"The 2020 Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi Passito is far more savoury than expected, more like food than wine, with botanical and herbal tones evolving into notes of kiwi and a dusting of candied ginger. This shows its sweetness on the palate, mixing tropical citrus and melon with saline minerals, all motivated by brisk acidity. This salty-sweet and highly drinkable Passito finishes wonderfully long and potent, yet fresh with a subtle bitter twang. Drink now or lose it in the cellar."

Spumante Brut

Sartarelli Brut sparkling wine was made for the first time in 2011 and presented in 2012 to celebrate Sartarelli's 40th anniversary!

Sartarelli Brut is entirely made from strictly selected grapes picked by hand at the end of August and is produced by using the Martinotti method. Thanks to a prolonged period of refinement on the lees at the end of the fermentation process, its organoleptic characteristics are particularly noteworthy. Great not only for cheers but also for food pairing. An ideal wine for partying both in winter and summer or for dreaming while watching a romantic sunset whether by the sea or in the mountains. A very good companion for the holidays, anniversaries, special occasions or for just chatting with friends.

Sartarelli Brut Spumante NV

It is of a brilliant straw yellow colour and has a bouquet of apple. fruit, lemon verbena, almond aromas and hints of yeasts. It has a fresh but not intrusive acidity, citrus fruit flavours and a fine, persistent perlage.

"Masses of fresh apples, chamomile and mint waft up from the Brut VS. It sizzles across the palate with saline and lime-tinged acidity that gives way to a pleasant inner sweetness toward the close. Tropical florals and a salty flourish linger through the finale, as a hint of Granny Smith apple slowly fades. By law, the vintage cannot be printed on the label, but this bottling hails from 2021. Drink to 2025"
