      Tasting Notes and Description
A very seductive and elegant wine, exhibiting white flowers, grapefruit, lime and a beautiful mineral touch. Very long on the palate with great texture and aftertaste.

A field blend of 70 years old vines including Viosinho, Rabigato, Côdega do Larinho, and Gouveio. Situated on north facing slopes at 600m altitude. Hand harvested grapes, de-stemmed, and fermented in French oak barrels (9% new) for four - six weeks. Aged in the same for 8 months with batonnage.

Sandra Tavares da Silva and Jorge Serôdio Borges began their adventure in 2001. In the beginning, the young couple had no vineyards and no wine, but they shared a dream, a personal project to which they have devoted themselves body and soul.

The name Wine & Soul is the product of their passion and total commitment to wine. From the start, this company's work has focused on a tireless search for exceptional vines in the Pinhão Valley - the historic heart of great Port wines - to give them a voice.

Wine & Soul embodies the spirit of a new wave of top quality Douro Wines, sourced from very old vineyards, low yields, limited production showcase the character of each particular vineyard and the very special nature of each unique terroir. Wines crafted with minimum intervention, letting nature and terroir take the lead and speak for themselves.

"The nose of the 2023 Guru is clean, precise, elegant and nuanced, very insinuating and subtle, corresponding to a cooler vintage that delivered one of the finest versions of this white, which ranks among the most elegant in Douro. It has the serious and mineral mouthfeel from the Douro schist soils, finishing dry and long, with an almost salty twist. It has a moderate 12.5% alcohol, denoting contained ripeness that translates into white flowers and wild herbs and a pH of 3.39, parameters of very good freshness. The oak is neatly integrated. 21,000 bottles produced. It was bottled in June 2024. Drink to 2035."
