Domaine de Montille Bourgogne "Clos du Chateau" de Puligny-Montrachet 2022, 75cl

    Product Information

The Bourgogne Le Clos du Château 2022 opens with a discreet zesty bouquet punctuated with secondary notes. Perfectly balanced, it embraces an enveloping texture, and delivers a lingering finish. This is a particularly refined wine for a simple Burgundy, a step above classic Burgundy Chardonnay. The appellation: Coming from a vineyard of approximately 5 ha in one piece, located at the foot of the Château de Puligny-Montrachet and entirely enclosed, which facilitates our biodynamic cultivation method. Although classified as AOC Burgundy, this vineyard is remarkably well located in the village and on the border of the AOC Puligny-Montrachet vines. The deep soil, made up of silt and clay, gives the wine a beautiful generosity. Wine and style: After a light settling, the musts are put into barrels mainly of 600 liters and also of 228 L where the alcoholic and malolactic fermentation takes place. 5% new barrels with wood coming mainly from Allier, in long and light toasting. The first racking takes place after about a year of aging in wood to then begin the second phase (4 to 6 months) in stainless steel vats in order to maintain freshness and tension in the wine. Vine cultivation: The estate has been practicing organic viticulture since 1995. Since 2005, biodynamics has complemented these practices that respect the soil and life. The wines are Ecocert certified. "Pale lemon yellow. This is markedly more refined, the smallest fraction of beneficial reduction on top of a very elegant floral bouquet. Super smooth texture yet refreshed by adequate acidity. Drink 2025 - 2028." 87-90 points. Jasper Morris MW, Inside Burgundy (December 2023)
