      Tasting Notes and Description
Colour: Pale yellow, slightly green reflections.
The nose is very fine, with notes of white flowers accompanied by a lemony and mineral touch. Frank and clean on the palate, ample mouth, citrus notes, nice acidity which brings freshness while ending on saline notes. The finish is long, pleasant, complex and elegant.

A blend of Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc aged in French oak barriques before bottling.

The Bargylus winery is precisely located near the town of Deir Touma, Syria, which literally means "Convent of Thomas", not far from the last vestiges of the Crusader era and the illustrious Saladin.

Typically Mediterranean, Bargylus elegantly combines strength and finesse: the aromatic range is defined by fresh fruit and minerality transmitted from very stony soils. Domaine de Bargylus is managed by two brothers Karim and Sandro Saadé, with the assistance of renowned consultant Stéphane Derenoncourt. It has been cited by wine critic Jancis Robinson as "arguably the finest wine of the Eastern Mediterranean".

"Blend of Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc that has such an admirable structure that it tastes as though it had been oak aged. It wasn't. It well justifies the producer's claim that it ages well. A milder and briefer winter than the previous vintage was followed by uncharacteristically high spring temperatures and then a moderately warm summer. Sea breezes cooled night-time temperatures. Harvest lasted from 4 September to 4 October.

"Beautifully balanced wine from war-torn Syria that is still in its prime at seven years old. It certainly doesn't taste as though it comes from a hot region, and is grown on hillsides inland from Lattakia, Antioch in biblical times, exposed to maritime influences (the producer finds iodine in most vintages). The Sauvignon is the dominant ingredient on the nose but far from aggressively so. Drink 2022 -2028."
