      Tasting Notes and Description
Ripe aromas of grapefruit and lemons with overt white floral characters in the forefront. The hint of struck match aromas characteristic of this wine, reflect the judicious use of during fermentation and ageing, adding a dimension of complexity and interest.

The Palate displays vibrant, varietal Sauvignon qualities, with citrus, racy fresh acidity and after 18 months of ageing on lees, creamy textures and a toasty, nutty finish.

Ideal culinary companion for fish, poultry and vegetable dishes and especially aromatic white cheeses.

Dog Point Vineyard combines the considerable wine-growing experience of Ivan and Margaret Sutherland and James and Wendy Healy, all former personnel at Cloudy Bay. The philosophy is total involvement by the partners from the vineyard through the winemaking process to marketing regionally distinctive and vineyard expressive wines.

A fuller bodied, textural style of Sauvignon Blanc. This single vineyard parcel is situated within the Dog Point Vineyard, using the same low cropping level from vines planted in 1992. Fruit is hand-picked, whole bunch pressed and fermented and aged in older French oak barrels for 18 months. Bottled without fining.

"Section 94 is one of Marlborough's most highly-acclaimed barrel fermented/matured examples of sauvignon blanc. It is also one of the most adventurous wines with a strong savoury, struck flint reductive character. A richly textural and impressively complex wine."
95 points. Bob Campbell, The Real Review (April 2022)

"Full screwcapped bottle 1,305 g. Certified organic.
Very, very muted oak gives this wine structure rather than flavour. Firm and chalky-textured with the same bright fruit that characterises their regular, earlier release of Sauvignon Blanc. Just more undertow … and ageing potential. Very impressive. Drink to 2027."
17+ points. Jancis Robinson MW, jancisrobinson.com (January 2023)

"The 2020 Section 94 is today five years from its harvest, and it shows a preponderance of yellow fruits, exotic spices, layers of cloves, star anise and fennel, with white cloth and beeswax. It's a powerful, tightly coiled wine of great length and complexity. These evolve favorably in the future, so drinking the estate Sauvignon Blanc in its youth is recommended, while you allow this to age and settle. This is a very impressive wine. 14% alcohol, sealed under screw cap. Drink to 2039."
94+ points. Erin Larkin, The Wine Advocate (June 2025)
