The estate farms 27 hectares of organically certified vineyards, 16 hectares of which are planted to Nebbiolo, alongside Barbera, Dolcetto, and Chardonnay. Vineyards range from 280 to 400 metres in altitude, reaching up to 550 metres for Dolcetto and Chardonnay, with steep slopes of 20–35%. Exposures are predominantly south, south-east, and south-west.
Soils are varied and complex - sand, marl, loam, and clay - contributing nuance and site specificity across the range. Vine age typically ranges from 15 to 40 years, with some Nebbiolo parcels exceeding 50 years. Yields are carefully controlled between 6,000 and 9,000 kilograms per hectare, depending on variety.
Environmental sustainability and respect for the land are central to Conterno Fantino’s philosophy. All vineyards are farmed organically (CCPB certified), with a strong focus on biodiversity and long-term soil health. Manual work in the vineyards and hand harvesting ensure optimal fruit quality and precision.
