      Tasting Notes and Description
"I am constantly asked: Who is Burgundy's next superstar? Who's the next Roumier, Rousseau or Coche? Domaine Henri & Gilles Buisson."
      Neal Martin, Vinous (May 2022)

This plot of Saint-Romain, facing South-West, is located between 293 and 380 meters on very steep soil. Composed of light and sandy soils on limestone scree that disintegrates, this terroir on which young vines express themselves, gives birth to a fresh white wine, full of fruit and perfumed. Its minerality which is expressed very gently gives it a pleasant roundness enhanced with notes of citrus fruits and white flowers.

The Buisson family name is closely linked to the destiny of Saint-Romain, a wine-growing village from its origins.

It was Henri Buisson, a true pioneer, who planted 5 hectares of vines and thus wrote the first page of the family destiny, by setting up as an independent winegrower in 1947, the date on which Saint-Romain obtained its AOC.

Gilles, Henri's son, and his wife Monica continued the story. They extended the vineyard to 14 hectares in 2000. They also created from scratch a new vat room and invested in new winemaking equipment.

Franck and Frédérick Buisson, sons of Gilles and grandsons of Henri, took up the torch in 2008. They gained a passion for the wines and their terroir as their inheritance. They love this land and intend to tell its story in their bottles, make it known throughout the world while respecting it. Henri Buisson already followed the "organic" trends of his time in the 60s and 70s. Today, the vineyard of almost 20 hectares and certified "ORGANIC" from 2009. The two brothers have been operating the vineyard entirely biodynamically since 2018.

"From a southwest-facing site on sandy soils, the 2023 Saint-Romain Le Jarron delivers aromas of lemon oil, nashi pear and peach framed by a gentle smoky reduction. On the palate, it’s medium- to full-bodied and muscular yet racy, underpinned by ripe but lively acidity. It shows well and will drink nicely on release. Drink to 2034."

Kristaps Karklins, Wine Advocate (October 2025)

"Mid lemon yellow. A bit more sand in the soil here, so a rounder style which works well if bottled a bit earlier. Showing a bit of oak which will soon fold in to the white fruit, along with some ripe citrus. A touch of ripe grapefruit. Long and sensual, lowish acidity for St Romain, but enough. Drink to 2029."
