      Tasting Notes and Description
A brilliant yellow colour. An elegant, assertive nose of white flowers, citrus and white fruit (pear, peach). On the palate, this wine is very fine, with balanced acidity and a mineral finish, purely “Chablisien”.

Can be aged for 10 to 15 years. The minerality and aromas of this wine will develop over the years while retain liveliness and vitality.

Enjoy it with grilled fish or fish in sauce, grilled white meats or white meats in cream-based sauces.

The Grand Cru 'Les Preuses' is located at the north-western tip of the Grands Crus, on a steep, south-facing slope, benefiting from the summer sun until the evening. Its name, “Les Preuses”, comes from the word “pierreuse”, due to its location near an ancient Roman road. Its Kimmeridgian clay-limestone soil makes it a noble Chablis terroir.

Vines are aged around 45 years old and farmed using sustainable methods. Aged in steel on fine lees for around 6 months before bottling.

"In stainless steel barrels. A little more colour, still bright and vivid. More generous fruit on the nose, ripe apple, now the sunshine shows with peach and honeysuckle, but without sucrosity and straying close to its mineral origins. Lovely in its style. Drink to 2035."
      91 - 93 points.
Jasper Morris, Inside Burgundy (July 2024)

"Apparently, the Gueguens have been bottling an example of les Preuses since the 2020 vintage, but this was the first year in which I have tasted it. The wine is stunning in 2023, delivering a complex aromatic constellation of lemon, pink grapefruit, beeswax, a kaleidoscopic base of chalky minerality, white flowers and a topnote of lime peel. On the palate the wine is deep, crisp and full-bodied, with a superb core of fruit, great complexity and balance, a great spine of acidity and a very long, precise and vibrant finish. Great juice. Drink to 2070."
      95 points.
