      Tasting Notes and Description
      Golden colour with silvery glints, clear and bright. An exotic nose of white flowers, white fruit (peach and nectarine). In the mouth, it is very fresh and balanced, with citrus aromas (lemon and grapefruit), white fruit and a great minerality.

      Food & Wine pairing: A favourite as an aperitif, Le Paradou Viognier is one of those rare wines that can be paired with asparagus. Very elegant with grilled fishes, fried squid, scallops, it emphasises dishes with cheese such as Parmiggiano Risotto and goes well with goat cheeses. For desserts, with apricot pie or even strawberry soups.

      Le Paradou is a project created by Alexandre and Frédéric Chaudière whose family produce some of the most respected wines in the Ventoux at Château Pesquié.

      It is reasonable to think “Paradou” means “Paradise” in the old language of the “langue d’oc”, as it is magical to live in the south of France. Yet, “Paradou” actually refers to the old watermills that once dotted the landscape. It is in homage to these majestic giants, built on the banks of streams since Roman times, that we have created these fresh and pleasing wines.

      The exact origin of the Viognier is unknown, but it is the vine of the mythical Condrieu of the Northern Rhone Valley. Even though it almost disappeared in the middle of the twentieth century, it is now famous around the world. It is characterised by low yields and very elegant aromas: apricot, pear, violet and white flowers.
