      Tasting Notes and Description
An elegant, organic, new-wave Châteauneuf-du-Pape with a spicy nose of garrigue and red cherries. On the palate the wine is poised and mid-weight, with fine, powdery tannins and good length on the spicy finish. Beautiful now, but will age 10-15 years with good cellaring.

Enjoy with grilled red meats and soft cheeses.

The 'Cuvée Tradition' Châteauneuf-du-Pape 2020 blends 80% Grenache, 12% Syrah, 5% Mourvèdre, and 3% Cinsault. Terroir is a combination of rolled pebbles, limestone, clay, and sandy soils. Grapes harvested by hand, partly destemmed, and fermention in old barrels. The wine matures in the same for 24 months before bottling.

Created in 2003, Domaine Porte Rouge is an organic winery, located in Châteauneuf-du-Pape. Taken over by the Feraud family in 2022, already owner of Domaine du Pegau in Châteauneuf-du-Pape.

Domaine Porte Rouge is now living through Laurence & her children, Justine & Maxim. Guided by respect for traditions and family know-how, Justine & Maxim breathe new energy into Domaine Porte Rouge through their common passion for vines and wine.

"The 2020 Châteauneuf Du Pape has a ripe, up-front, sexy style as well as impressive notes of candied strawberries, raspberries, wildflowers, and spice. Playing in a medium-bodied, more supple, elegant style, it has good tannins, rock-solid overall balance, and outstanding length."

"Strong crimson, purple reflections, broader ochre lightening on the rim. Nuances of sea buckthorn, herbal savouriness, some liquorice and suede, orange confit in the underlay. Juicy, velvety texture, elegant, subtle nougat, cherries, silky tannins, good freshness and length, chocolate touch on the back palate. Already very gluggable and great value for money."
