      Tasting Notes and Description
Clean and brilliant with an attractive purple hue and a violet rim.
Black fruit aromas such as blackberries and blackcurrants come to the fore. Subtle floral notes, such as violets, come through with hints of liquorice, a characteristic trait of the Tempranillo grape. Also roasted coffee-bean notes emerge, together with touches of vanilla brought by the wine's aging in barrel.
A fresh, fruity and full entry on the palate with well-integrated acidity. Length of flavour is medium to long, with a creamy, sweet sensation coming from the wine's aging in oak.

Great with roast suckling lamb, suckling pig and semi-matured cheeses.

Magnificent magnum (1.5 litre) presentation from one of Spain's pioneers.
This prestigious estate is covered by a continuous expanse of around 200 hectares of prime Tempranillo vines. Alejandro Fernández's vineyards have grown on the banks of the River Duero next to poplar and willow groves in a land that has become legendary, since 1987.

However, Alejandro had to wait until 1993 for the estate at Condado de Haza to be up and running and become totally self-sufficient, and for the whole winemaking process, from the vine to the bottle, to be carried out exclusively in the bodega.

To perfect its wines-all made using Tempranillo-the structure of this winery was designed by digging a hill. What's more, it has a bottle cellar in a tunnel almost 30 meters deep.

"Oak spices, hazelnuts and mocha to the strawberries and red plums. Juicy and expressive on the palate with a medium to full body rounded by firm tannins. Fluid, creamy and long. Drink or hold."
      92 points. James Suckling, JamesSuckling.com (July 2023)

"Dark garnet in color, this wine has aromas of blackberry, raspberry and chocolate covered espresso bean. It is smooth on the palate, with polished tannins and berry flavors joined by notes of milk chocolate, cocoa powder, anisette and violet that wend their way to a floral and fruit finish."
