      Tasting Notes and Description
Full and round on the palate with notes of minerality, spices and hazelnut. It is fresh and pleasing in the first two to three years with seven years aging potential.

Ideal with white meat, cheeses such as the goat's milk cheeses, I.E. Beaufort, le Comté, l'Emmental or le Saint-Paulin.

The philosophy of Olivier Leflaive is to produce simply great wines. There are no secrets to this – everything starts in the vines with good grapes. Olivier, Franck and their team are lucky to have strong relationships with some of the best winegrowers on the Côte, people who grow their vines with care and attention.

Although the quality of the harvest is key, vinification and ageing also play a major role in bringing out the essence of each appellation. Franck Grux and Philippe Grillet make it their daily task to ensure the quality of the wines and respect for the terroir. As such, the estate’s approach is to treat each cuvée individually.

Located at the southern end of the Côte Chalonnaise, the Montagny AOC only produces Chardonnay. Blending of different cuvées vinified separately from Bonneveaux, Perrières et Coères. Sol : calcareous clay, Marl.

12 months (whose 5 months in stainless steel tank)
85 % oak barrels (whose 15% of new oak)

"Bottled in August. It comes from Bonneveaux plus the sector overlooking Montagny itself. Pale lemon colour. Another wine where the bouquet is not yet expressive, but the fruit comes across really well on the palate, with a clean pure limestone feel at the finish. A light citrus note and excellent persistence."
