A scrumptious blend of Organic: 40% Vermentino, 30% Roussanne, 20% Marsanne and 10% Viognier.

Aromas of apricot, lime, pear, peach and vanilla ooze from the glass. The wine has a rich, complex flavour with a hint of honey and a languorous, minty finish - just perfect. A JN staff favourite and proven companion for fish, white meats, mediterranean salads or various cheeses.

This cuvee pays tribute to a terroir where, at the end of Summer, after the first raindrops, white pebbles take nice silver reflections : something that only nature can provide.

"Full bottle 1,420 g. Certified Ecocert organic. 45% Vermentino, 35% Roussanne, 20% Marsanne from vineyards in Pic St-Loup, 130 m above sea level, on south-east-facing slopes. Clay-limestone marls. 20-year-old vines. Hand-picked, destemmed, short low-temperature skin maceration and fermented at 18 °C. Aged in tuns with lees contact (but no stirring) for 12–14 months and then in concrete tanks for a few weeks before bottling. Aged for one year in bottle before release.

Smoked peach and hazelnut, with a folded-in nectar-rich floral character. Incredibly toasty for a wine that hasn’t seen oak! It smells like toasted buckwheat and buckwheat honey (which, I might add, is the most remarkable honey I’ve ever tasted). Cherry blossom, rose hip, chamomile tea. It’s so unusual. Even a bit of a conundrum. There’s a waxy fattiness, but the wine itself has a silvery-green iridescence and is not remotely fat. The fruit is pink and scented and somehow ‘pinkly’ spicy – maybe it reminds me of molle peppercorns. It feels as if there has been a bit of skin contact, with a tissue-paper pull and crackle in the texture, but I’d be surprised if a short, low-temp skin maceration would have given it this much texture. There’s a rich smokiness and something in the mid palate that tastes like the crackled top of crème brûlée. But no oak… Fascinating. Good to see how well this has aged. Lascaux is making great wine!
