Intense ruby red colour. The nose pairs raspberry and blackberry with notes of chocolate and black olive. The palate reveals of liquorice and roasted aromas. This exceptionally concentrated wine finishes with perfectly ripe smooth tannins. We recommend decanting three hours before serving.
This wine would match meaty dishes to perfection. Drink within four to ten years.
A superb offering from one of Languedoc's stellar winemakers Château la Négly. La Falaise is scented, herbal, rich and rounded with sweet dark fruit underscored with refreshing minerality. The 2022 is crafted from 40% Syrah, 30% Grenache and 30% Mourvèdre. It is well structured, persistent and very expressive. After fermentation, the wine is aged for one year in barriques, 25% of which are new wood.
"A blend of unknown proportions of Carignan, Grenache Noir, Mourvèdre and Syrah, the 2022 La Clape la Falaise displays a deeper, more complex and riper bouquet than La Côte, evoking aromas of flowers, iris, dark cherries, spices and chocolate. Medium to full-bodied, layered and round, it's deep and elegant, with a rich core of fruit, a slight warmth from the alcohol and a long, spicy finish. It was crafted from vines planted on clay, limestone soils facing northeast. Drink to 2030."

"Full bottle 1,400 g. Syrah, Grenache, Mourvèdre. The Syrah is vinified in wooden cuves, and the Grenache and Mourvèdre are vinified in cement tanks. Aged for 12 months in a mix of oak vessels.
Very peppery! But the spiciness is amply served by generously ripe black-cherry and blackcurrant fruit. The tannins are long, limber and luscious, tinged with black olive, wrapped languid around the glossy black fruit. The finish is peppermint fresh, spiced with caraway, long and carrying a cheeky note of amaretto. The (big) alcohol is well hidden. Château la Négly has somehow managed to carry it off. Drink 2024 - 2032."
