      Tasting Notes and Description
A fine accompaniment to seafood risotto, ceviche, fish tacos and shellfish.

This wine shows why the Forrest Southern Valleys vineyards are so special. Showing all the traditional Albariño elements, plus that extra fruit lift of New Zealand to keep it interesting. Vibrant acidity, white peach, winter cole pear, apricots and quince, with an orange zest undertone. It's full and textural, yet refreshing and nicely balanced, with drying minerality to finish.

They've planted it in their hottest site, the Southern Valleys vineyard, with ancient complex soils with a touch of clay. Terroir, they already know, which is fantastic for giving wines incredible aromatic intensity and textural complexity.

The grapes were machine harvested in the cool of the morning, cold settled and cool fermented in stainless steel tanks before blending and finishing for bottling in spring.

"right, even, pale yellow with some depth. The nose is soft, penetrating stonefruit, citrus and blossoms. Medium-light bodied, dry-ish to taste, aromas of peach and apricot interweave citrus and white florals. A hint of spice adorned the palate with a slight prickly sensation and brought a sweet-fruited finish. Stony minerals left a light texture and flowed smoothly with lively acidity. This Albarino shows sweet fruit with floral details and a mineral palate. Match with grilled fish and pork dumplings over the next 2-4 years. Fruit from the Southern Valleys, machine harvested, fermented cool in stainless steel to 13% alc, 6.7 g/l RS."

Raymond Chan Wine Reviews (September 2022)

"Lovely bouquet, lifted, fresh, fruity, varietal and a little bit flirtatious. Flavours of peaches, apple and sweet citrus with a saline mineral quality. A satin smooth texture touches the palate then contrasting acidity, salinity and a core fruit flavours. The acidity provides backbone while the core fruit start with peach then transition to ripe citrus. Balanced, well made, lengthy and ready to drink from summer 2023 through 2026."
