      Tasting Notes and Description
Perfect with dishes like pan fried seabass fillet or roast free range chicken.

Pike & Joyce is perched high in the Adelaide Hills, 593m above sea level, just 40 minutes from the CBD. It boasts spectacular 180 degree views of the Hills, Onkaparinga Valley and beyond.

Established in 1998, their brand is a partnership between two families who both share a love of the region, a passion for food and viticulture, and a desire to produce only the finest wine. The Adelaide Hills is one of the premier Chardonnay producing regions in Australia and this wine can only add to this reputation. The "Sirocco" adds to the growing list of outstanding Chardonnays they have produced from their Lenswood site since 2001.

Colour: Medium to pale green, straw tints.

Aroma: Complex aromas of flint or struck match open up to a bounty of white peach and citrus blossom. Hints of hazelnut and cashew adding to the mix.

Palate: The flinty, struck match characters carry through to the palate. Backed up by a generous mouth-watering acid core, featuring white stone fruit, while nougat and hazelnut linger on the palate.

Drink now and over next 5-8 years.

"Tasted from a mini 30-cl sample bottle. From the Lenswood vineyard – an estate vineyard planted with 25-year-old vines, clones 76 and 96. 500–590 m asl. Hand-picked. A mix of whole bunch and destemmed berries to press. Direct pressed to barrel with fruit solids. Spontaneous fermentation in 225-litre French oak barriques. Eight months on lees, with some bâtonnage. A small portion of the barrels go through malo. Winemaker is Steve Baraglia. TA 6.87 g/l, pH 3.46. 2021 had a lot of rain over winter and spring and was one of the coolest summers on record.
A precise intersection of ripeness and acidity, the fruit brilliant with purity, the acidity crystalline, the texture rich with praline. It feels as if the nectarine fruit wants to burst through, explode in the mouth, yet there is remarkable restraint – a flint-edged sense of holding everything within clear-cut, refined boundaries. Plenty of time to run. Good value. Drink to 2028.
