      Tasting Notes and Description
This wine has beautiful aromas of lemon, orange blossom and pear with just a hint of yellow apple and stone fruit coming through on the nose. The palate is layered with a fresh and vibrant acidity. This wine has an incredible depth to it and is complex with a lingering finish. This wine will drink best over the next two to eight years.

We believe there's a lot to be said for the way winemaking used to be. There were no chemicals, no "technological advancements" that made the process a process, and natural balance was more important than balance sheets.

Some people dismiss it as old-fashioned nostalgia, but we like to think of it as ancient wisdom. And we embrace it as much as we can. Not just because it's better for the earth, but because it makes for better wine.

The oldest vineyards on the Reyneke farm are two blocks of Chenin blanc from 1974 and 1976 respectively. These vineyards are registered with South Africa’s Old Vine Project (OVP).

The grapes were whole bunch pressed before light settling and then fermented in a combination of 300l second-fill French oak barrels and a 2500l foudré. The wine was then aged on its lees for 10 months with a further two month aging in stainless steel tank before bottling.

The wine pairs well with Asian cuisine, pork dishes and trout.

"We've gone more focused" says Nuschka de Vos of this complex, amphora, foudre and old wood-aged Chenin, inspired by the wines of Vouvray. Beeswax, lanolin and fennel aromas lead into a palate with good texture and structure and a pithy, mouth-watering finish.
