In 2010 L’If was welcomed into the Jacques Thienpont family portfolio of estates, beautifully situated on the plateau of Saint Emilion, next to Château Troplong Mondot. The precision shown both in the vineyard and winery is enabling us to bring out the best of this lovely estate. This is the second vintage of the second wine, Collines de L’If,embodying the unique personality of the estate through its young vines.

Made with the same care and expertise as its big brother, Collines de L'If is fine and fresh with notes of autumn fruits, liquorice and spices. It conveys an accessibility, good richness and an attractive balance between fruit and soil with a touch of mint. The finish is long with the red fruit character that embodies Saint-Emilion wines.

First you notice the dark peppery elements, the good almost chocolate intensity and then the dark fruit character. There is lively spice, good structure and then the elegant black fruit flavours come to the fore and there is a lively fresh finish to the wine. For us, it is very characteristic of Saint Emilion and is an easy drinking, medium bodied wine for early drinking.
