These grapes are small and deeply coloured, with concentrated flavours enhanced by meticulous winemaking and extensive ageing in French oak barrels. Hillside Select consistently expresses the voluptuous fruit, rich flavours and velvety texture that characterise grapes grown in Stags Leap District.

Those who grow grapes and make wine have a moment at the start of every vintage when they mentally brace themselves wondering what curveballs Mother Nature will send their way (and imagining the worst). What bud break and bloom will be like, what the drama of harvest will have in store, and ultimately how the wines turn out.
