Viña Bujanda Reserva, made of 100% Tempranillo, comes from Rioja Alta and Alavesa areas. Grapes are grown in clay and harvested during the first week of October. The wine is then fermented in stainless steel tanks for 12 days and aged in oak 24 months in American (70%) and French (30%) oak and further aged in bottle for 18 months before it is released and ready to enjoy.

The resulting wine is deep purple with garnet highlights. The nose is all elegance with hints of cigar box and mature blackberry, plum and sloes. The palate is full bodied and round and the finish is long and refined and intensly complex - plum, cacao and mocha notes emerge alluding to great aging potential.

Vina Bujanda represents a new venture from the Martinez Bujanda family. Using grapes from their 120 hectares in Rioja Alta and Rioja Alavesa that they had previously sold on to other producers, the company has launched the Vina Bujanda brand. It offers a competitively priced Rioja of excellent quality and pedigree and is always among our best selling Spanish wines.

The wine will pair particularly well with roast meat, game and mature cheeses.
