      Tasting Notes and Description
Always offering wonderful value and a great favourite that won't break the bank. It always punches above its weight and its packed full of ripe blackberry fruit. It punches well above its standing and will give great pleasure from 2024 and beyond.

Château Senejac has a long history in the Medoc. While the property dates back to the 1500s, vines were not planted for a few hundred years until some point in the 18th century. The estate remained in the hands of the family for close to two centuries. The de Guigne family owned the property from 1860 until 1999, when they sold Château Senejac to Lorraine Cordier, the owner of Château Talbot in Saint-Julien and her husband Thierry Rustmann. Lorraine Cordier passed away in 2011. Today, Château Senejac is managed by the sister of Lorraine Cordier, Nancy Bignon Cordier.

"Very attractive, crunchy dark fruit with medium to full body and spiced, chocolatey character. Firm and structured with velvety tannins and a lingering finish. Plenty of currant and hazelnut character."
      93-94 points.James Suckling, jamessuckling.com (April 2023)

"Impressive, it has lift and character, floral notes of red roses, raspberry leaf and peony, flirts with high alcohols and touches of cloves and tar from the oak, but there is supple fruit underneath, and the tannins have give and lift, not just shutting things down. Vintage signature without overkill. One to look out for, tasted twice. 30% new oak for ageing."
      93 points. Jane Anson, janeanson.com (May 2023)

"The 2022 Sénéjac has turned out very well and looks to be the best wine this estate has produced since 2009. Offering up aromas of sweet minty cassis, petals and pencil shavings, it's medium-bodied, velvety and seamless, with a fresh core of fruit and a flavorful finish. Drink to 2042."
92 points. William Kelley, The Wine Advocate (March 2025)
