      Tasting Notes and Description
Intense ruby red colour. The nose pairs raspberry and blackberry with notes of chocolate and black olive. The palate reveals of liquorice and roasted aromas. This exceptionally concentrated wine finishes with perfectly ripe smooth tannins. We recommend decanting three hours before serving.

This wine would match meaty dishes to perfection.
Drink within four to ten years.

A superb offering from one of Languedoc's stellar winemakers Chateau La Negly. La Falaise is scented, herbal, rich and rounded with sweet dark fruit underscored with refreshing minerality. The 2020 is crafted from 40% Syrah, 30% Grenache and 30% Mourvèdre. It is well structured, persistent and very expressive. After fermentaion, the wine is aged for one year in barriques, 25% of which are new wood.

"Syrah, Grenache and Mourvèdre. The Syrah was vinified in wood and the Grenache and Mourvèdre in concrete. Aged for 12 months in several different vessels.
Ripe and sweaty and hot and sultry. Big fruit. Beef-stock saltiness. Assertive, hirsute, thick-set tannins. A lick of luminous-green herbaceousness but this is, more than anything else, a full-frontal, dramatic, heated attack of black fruit, char and concentration. Drink to 2026.
      16 points."
      (Tamlyn Currin, jancisrobinson.com, October 2022)

"A blend of Syrah, Grenache, and Mourvèdre—with a bit more Mourvèdre than usual this year—the 2020 La Clape la Falaise is a terrific effort. Notes of strawberries, garrigue and subtle notes of saltbush appear on the nose, while the full-bodied palate is ripe and supple, laden with raspberries, yet fresh and zesty on the lingering, elegant finish. Drink to 2035.
      93 points."
