      Tasting Notes and Description
Château Climens is expressed mainly by its freshness, by a complex aromatic expression, by the precision of the balance between sweet, acid and bitter, and finally, by a singular touch of the mouth . A wine of great freshness and a touch on the palate that no surrounding property can boast of.

The freshness comes from the tension of the acidity . The fruity tendencies that characterize the wine are directly related to the positioning of this acidity . Tiny nuances in the balance between acidity and sweet and bitter sensations lead to fruity variations from one vintage to another. Thus, the most noticed fruits during the different tastings are citrus fruits, plums (Mirabelle plum, Reine-Claude and Ente plum), apricot and apple.

This special grace, the result of tightness and minerality is also blessed with an extraordinary aromatic palette, mingling perfumes of flowers, fruits, spices, and often even a hint of eucalyptus or fresh mint. In their youth the wines, which have a pale colour that is reminiscent of the aromas, are dominated by citrus fruit (grapefruit, lemon, citron), fresh fruit and white flowers. Sweet spices and other deeper, confected fruit flavours will develop with the passing of time. Whatever the vintage, the wines continue to age slowly, retaining their harmonious blend of sweetness and freshness for decades, which signs their inimitable charm.

Climens is most famous for the elegance of its wine, but also for its sustained excellence: even in less than great vintages, the wines produced are always magical.

"Bérénice Lurton refuses to submit a sample of a wine which is not the final blend... The impression was of an incredible mosaic of contrasting yet complementary elements, combining great concentration (mostly wonderfully perfumed) with beautifully unctuous textures and complex fruit flavours, often very honeyed; all marked by a glorious freshness and purity... It is hard to imagine much better wine than this."
