To like the cuvée Marie, you have to like simple things. Direct, immediate things. This wine is principally intense fruit. Citrus, generally, with grapefruit being easily identified. It is then tension and freshness. On the finish, it's a little iodized, saline, sapid side… All you need in the end to put a little sunshine in your glass.

80% Colombard, 20% Vermentino.

Domaine de Ventenac is found about 10km north of Carcassonne in the appellation of Cabardes which, because of its location between the Massif Cantral on one side and the Pyrenees on the other, enjoys a climate which is an interesting mix of Mediterranean and Atlantic influences ensuring ideal conditionsfor growing all sorts of grape varieties.

We set out to elaborate a white which breaks away from the Languedoc "standards", by proposing a wine that is focused, bright, fresh and fruity. The use of uncommon grape varieties, their introduction on specially selected parcels, along with our cultivation and vinification techniques have allowed us to achieve these objectives by proposing an explosive wine with strong primary aromas of grapefruit and lemon, presenting itself with a focused structure and balance with a complex finish.
