This Pinot Noir from our most recent New Zealand partner is plush, smooth and textured. Dark cherry fruit is supported by subtle sweet oak and silky, fine tannins. It is elegant and rich with a light, tangy acidity creating alluring freshness.

"... faint smokiness rounds out succulent red fruits" (Damian Barr, Sunday Times magazine, 10 March 2015).

This year Kate Radburn became the first female winemaker to be named a fellow of the New Zealand winegrowers, an honour bestowed upon individuals who've made an outstanding contribution to the New Zealand wine industry. Kate is currently winemaker in chief, co-owner and managaing director of Pask Winery. A refreshing change in historically, a male dominated industry.

Forrest Pinot Noir, Marlborough

Bottle Price: £13.85 Offer Bottle Price: £11.77

Hand-picked fruit from the Wairau, Brancott, Northbank and Awatere districts, fermented to 13.5% alc., the wine aged 10 months in 20% new French oak barriques. Full, deep, dark ruby-red colour with youthful purple hues on rim. The bouquet is elegantly proportioned and tightly packed with deep aromas of ripe, black berry and cherry fruit with raspberry liqueur, dark herb, spicy oak and nutty complexities.

"Rich fruit tinged with cocoa and lavender, this wine is poised and cheerful. It has a slightly earthy nose underneath the pretty aromatics, with delicate cranberries and cherries on a sweet-savoury palate, then hints of coffee on the finish." 91 Points.(Decanter Magazine - New Zealand Pinot Noir Tasting, August 2016)

Lowburn Ferry Home Block Pinot Noir 2011

Bottle Price: £29.50 Offer Price: £25.08

Lowburn Ferry is the area surrounding a historic ferry crossing over the mighty Clutha River in Central Otago, New Zealand's fastest growing wine region. Central Otago has a continental climate with hot summers and long cold winters and in small pockets of the region the combination of microclimate and unique soil conditions are perfect for growing the fickle Pinot Noir grape. Nestled on a sheltered north facing terrace in the Lowburn Valley beneath the Pisa Range is Lowburn Ferry Vineyard, a family owned vineyard dedicated to the production of high quality Pinot Noir wine. The vines are hand tended to maximise the benefits of the unique terroir and microclimate.

"New Zealand's Central Otago rivals Burgundy for getting the best from fickle Pinot Noir, this bottle winning a Gold in the 2014 International Wine Challenge. Silky, sophisticated, medium-bodied but concentrated, with bright flavours of cherry and cinnamon. Goes with all autumn game, particularly grouse." (Terry Kirby, The Independent, 5 Oct 2014 on the 2012 vintage).

All three wines will be open for tasting in JN Wine on Saturday the 10th of September along side some interesting food pairings!
