We have chosen one of our most popular producers to supply us and, although the format is often associated with wines which are just about drinkable, we can confidently rely on Mourgues du Gres to come up with the goods. "Les Galets Rouges" is predominately Syrah from younger vines with Grenache, Mourvèdre and old vine Carignan making up the final blend. This is a very harmonious and balanced wine with soft tannins - a sublime blend of spicy red and black berry fruits. An absolutely perfect barbeque wine, in a more formal setting it will perfectly match meat dishes such as duck or rib steak or game. Juicy, long and fresh it also is an excellent partner for wintry recipes based on potatoes, mushrooms and savoury sauces. Best served at 15°, this wine can be drunk now or within the next 3 years.
