Dominio De Tares Baltos 2011/2012 Pk6

Pack of 6 x 750 ml Bottle Dominio de Tares is situated in Bierzo, one of the most talked about wine regions of Spain. Mencía is the red grape variety of choice in the area. It is responsible for wines that embody complexity, opulence and intriguing aromatics. The high altitude of the vines moderates the opulence and power by investing the wines with great freshness and a streak of illusive minerality. Baltos is made from 100% old-vine Mencía with very low yields. It is an elegant and individualistic wine with a nose of earth, minerals and red and black cherry. The palate is beautifully textured, smooth, fresh, spicy and full-bodied with a long, rounded finish. This wine is best decanted at least an hour before serving. Recommended serving temperature: 16° C.

Forrest Heart Of Stone Sauvignon 2014

Pack of 12 x 750 ml Bottle Produced by renowned NZ winery Forrest Estate, this is consistently one of JN's most popular Sauvignons. The Forrest family has farmed for generations, but it was not until 1988 that Drs John and Brigid Forrest began winemaking. Their hands-on operation, blending art and science to produce wines of high quality and purity, has given Forrest an enviable international reputation witnessed by numerous awards.
Heart of Stone is sourced from grapes grown in several distinctly different sites within Marlborough in an area where the vines struggle for survival in ancient riverbed stones and gravel. The resultant crop amounts to only a handful of intensely flavoured grapes per vine. This is a vibrant wine with flavours of blackberry, gooseberry and passionfruit underscored by appetising, crisp acidity which produces a refreshing finish. It will partner white fish and salads to perfection.

Soalheiro Allo 2014 Pk6

Pack of 6 x 750 ml Bottle The Melgaço region, the most northerly point of Portugal, is protected by a range of mountains that create the perfect conditions of rainfall, temperature and sunshine needed to perfectly ripen the Alvarinho grapes. The grapes for this wine, Alvarinho and Loureiro, two noble grape varieties of Minho in northern Portugal, are harvested by hand into small boxes. The palate shows citrus flavours with an underlying vibrant minerality. The Alvarinho, full of tropical fruit and structure, contrasts with the Loureiro, floral and full of elegance, which gives this wine a lovely balance. It is ideal as an aperitif or to accompany seafood dishes and fish. Incidentally, the name ALLO comes from the first two letters of Alvarinho and Loureiro. Read More......

Sartarelli Verdicchio Classico 2014

Pack of 12 x 750 ml Bottle Sartarelli was one of the estates featured in a May 2013 Decanter article entitled "Italy's Rising Stars" in which great praise was heaped upon this fabulous Marches winery: You know where an estate's heart lies when you realise that it only grows and makes wine from a single grape variety. There is no equivalent in Italy to Sartarelli, where the estate's motto might as well be "Verdicchio or Bust" (Decanter magazine, May 2013).
The Verdicchio grapes are pressed gently with careful temperature control during the fermentation process. The straw-yellow colour with greenish reflections emphasizes the quality of the grapes as well as the delicate techniques used in its production. This is a well rounded and palatable wine, beautifully structured, with a slightly savoury edge. It is soft on the palate and has the typical bitterish aftertaste with a slight suggestion of almond (typical of this variety).
Recommended by John Wilson, Irish Times, 28 Dec 2013: "The latest vintage of an old favourite; delicious pure textured pear and peach fruits with a nice kick on the finish."

Pack of 6 x 750 ml Bottle

Product Description

Cloudy Bay is the standard bearer for Marlborough and New Zealand when it comes to Sauvignon Blanc. The fruit for the Cloudy Bay Marlborough wines comes from the Cloudy Bay Estate vineyard in Rapaura, the "Widow's Block" in Renwick, the "Mustang" vineyard in Brancott Valley and the "Barracks Block" in the Omaka Valley. These sources are supplemented by fruit from a small number of long-time contract growers. The winemakers are Nick Blampied-Lane, Tim Heath and Sarah Burton, with Jim White as viticulturist. They are responsible for Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay, the main white wines made.

Press Reviews

"I've tasted this - the new version of the Cloudy Bay Sauvignon Blanc - three times in the last week. I think it's one of the best ever. I know that it's a brand that has enjoyed celebrity status in the UK, so much so that it has even had to be allocated and/or bundled by retailers, because everyone wants some. And it hasn't always lived up to the reputation. But the 2014 vintage is a classic example of top-quality Marlborough Sauvignon, with exotic notes yet also lots of finesse. You pay for the quality, of course (around £20 retail), but it's just such a lovely wine with a great back story". (Jamie Goode, wineanorak.com, 19 Oct 2014).
