Champagne, France
Pack of 6 x 750 ml Bottle
Writing in the March 2010 issue of Decanter magazine, doyen of wine commentators Michael Broadbent commented: "At a Roederer tasting, I noted its recently released Cristal Brut 2002. We English tend to drool over old Champagne, but this Cristal was the finest, most refined I can recall: pale with a pure gold sheen; distinctive, effortlessly sublime, crusty nose, exquiisite flavour, great length"
Seriously precocious nose with notes of apple blossom, fresh strawberries, clotted cream, cashews and lightly toasted hazelnuts plus a barely detectable hint of oak. Great concentration of apple crumble flavours with very fine bubbles and a crisp backbone of acid. Long creamy finish. Drink 2010 to 2029. Tasted March 2009. (Lisa Perrotti-Brown, eRobertParker.com, May 2009).
"55% Pinot Noir, 45% Chardonnay. Straw. Very mineral and focused on the nose. Sharp as a spear. Yet with great delicacy. So tightly laced! Really tastes as though it is only just becoming drinkable. Really tight and fresh and tense. Admirably different. Very long. Beautifully constructed. 19 pts. Drink 2012 -2022." (Jancis Robinson Purple Pages, 28 Nov 2012).

Portugal
Pack of 12 x 500 ml Bottle
The Ramos Pinto Port house was founded in 1880 by brothers Adriano and Antonio Ramos Pinto. It is run today by the heirs of the founders: Jorge Rosas and Joao Nicolau de Almeida, the enologist who, among many other innovations, was responsible for officially identifying the 5 key grape varieties that are best suited to wine production inthe Douro region. The 20-year-old tawny shows an elegant nose with fine balance. Hints of figs, toffee and dried fruits vie for attention on the spoil-yourself palate.
Gold Medal winner at 2010 and 2012 Decanter World Wine Awards: Lovely nutty nose with dried peel, marzipan and dates over a fragrant, suave palate with good fruit purity. Richness, freshness and a citrussy marmalade edge.
Picked in Top 20 20-year-old Tawnies by Decanter: "Mid-deep amber colour with a slight olive-green tinge to the rim. Rich, open, caramelised orange on the nose, lifted with the merest hint of rancio. Toasty caramelised flavours, gaining richness in the mouth with a succulent finish. Deliciously complex and beautifully balanced. 17.5pts/20 (91/100pts)". (Decanter.com, Feb 2013).
