      Tasting Notes and Description
Poggio ai Ginepri – Bolgheri DOC 2021 – is composed of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cab Franc and Petit Verdot, all vinified separately and extracted by soft pressing. A nice wine with defined structure and pronounced concentration.

The wine’s olfactory panorama is ample and profound while at once immediate and present. An intense structure characterises this wine, but with a beautiful softness and a remarkably clean finish.

Poggio ai Ginepri - Bolgheri Doc - born from a separate vinification of the varietals, extracted by a soft pressing. A generous wine, with good structure and deep concentration. The wine has as a broad and deep olfactory landscape that opens in a very frank and immediate way. The structure is intense, but also balanced by beautiful softness and depth of complexity. Truly a classy wine.

Along the charming coast of the Alta Maremma, 100 km to the south-west of Florence, in the small and prestigious DOC Bolgheri area lies Tenuta Argentiera, which is part of the old Estate of Donoratico that once belonged to the Florentine Serristori family.

      2021 - Cabernet Sauvignon 40% Merlot 30% Cabernet Franc 20% Petit Verdot 10%

"The entry-level Argentiera 2021 Bolgheri Rosso Poggio ai Ginepri has a distinctive bouquet with black licorice root and blackberry confit. There is a strong balsam herb or cola-like component to this blend of Cabernets Sauvignon and Franc, Merlot and Petit Verdot that gives lift to the bouquet, but that leaves the mouthfeel relatively straightforward and easy. Hints of spruce resin and pine cone also appear. This is a perfect partner to a spicy grilled sausage. Drink to 2028."

Monica Larner, The Wine Advocate (February 2024)

"Seesawing between spicy and sweet, the nose on this wine gives roasted red peppers, balsamic vinegar, cherries and pickling spices. The palate maintains the back and forth momentum, with more heat and sturdy but forgiving tannins."
