      Tasting Notes and Description
Deep plum coloured with a youthful purple rim. Fresh and aromatic with deep cherry fruit and somespice notes. Medium bodied with poise, freshness and elegance and ripe juicy tannins. An easy going yet engaging glass of Italian class.

Excellent as an aperitif if served chilled.

The Moris Family, dedicated to organic viticulture in the Maremma region of Tuscany, have emmerged as one of Southern Tuscany’s premier producers offering wines which have remained true to their origin while at the same time pioneering the exploration of non-tuscan varietals. Over the years, the family has managed to stay true to their roots and offer excellent value at every price point. The Morisfamily has been in Maremma for over 200 years. While the actual surface area of the farm is 476 hectares and is divided into two properties, there are 70 actual hectares under vine.

The first bottle of Morellino di Scansano dates back to 1981, only a few years after the DOC had been created in 1978.
This wine gets its flavour from the sandy soil on which the vines grow and the final result, in the glass, is an elegant wine with soft tannins. Made by 90% Sangiovese, with the rest made up of Merlot and Syrah. This wine is fresh and pleasant with notes of red fruit, violet, berry and spice, typical of this grape assemblage.

"Woodsy, earthy, cherry, tobacco-scented wine with cheeky little tannins that swarm the fruit like an army of Lilliputians tying down Gulliver. There is a tucked-in chew on this wine that gives it a sort of gymnastic, springy, energy-packed strength but the fruit, crisp, cool, defined, almost tarty just floods the palate with unrestrained deliciousness. This is Italian in every sense, from its expressiveness and liveliness to the dried herbs and no-nonsense, palate-whetting acidity. " Tamlyn Currin, Jancis Robinson - commenting on the previous vintage
