      Tasting Notes and Description
Enticing nose of dark fruit, cherry and light oak aromatics. The palate is layered with juicy red fruit and ripe cherries followed by a fine tannin structure. The finish is vibrant and lengthy with a subtle spice from the oak ageing.

A field blend from 30+ year old vineyards. Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca and Tinta Roriz. A portion is fermented in traditional "lagars" and the balance in stainless steel tanks with regular pump-overs. 16 Months “elevage” in old French Oak.

Rita Marques (a young dynamic Portuguese winemaker) and Marc Kent (long term cellarmaster of Boekenhoutskloof in South Africa) founded Companhia de Vinhos Invencível in 2020. The two winemakers, who had previously collaborated in 2015, 2016 and 2017 in South Africa and 2018 and 2019 in Portugal, embrace now a bigger commitment, acquiring an estate in Casais do Douro.

The pair focus on old field blends of indigenous varieties from high-altitude vineyards located on the vertiginous slopes of the Douro. The free-draining, granitic soils and extreme continental climate of the Douro allow for intensely concentrated grapes which result in complex, textural wines, bursting with personality and vigour.

"Full bottle 1,148 g. Mainly Touriga Nacional with Touriga Franca, Tinto Roriz and Tinta Cão, field blend, all from the same property just 1 km from their own small property. Just 5 km from Pinhao close to a Ramos Pinto property. Small portion fermented in lagar, the rest in tank and then into old barriques for about 16 months.
Dark crimson. Well-integrated nose and nicely developed with some spice. Not desperately long but well balanced and pleasing.
      16 points."
(Jancis Robinson MW, JR Purple Pages, June 2022)

"The 2020 Invincible Tinto number one is a field blend, unoaked but for 10% in used French oak for 16 months. It comes in at 13.8% alcohol. This runs around eight euros in Portugal. Solid for the price point, this has some concentration and upfront fruit flavor. There is a bit of grip on the finish too... Nicely done, this in its own right is stuffed with fruit for the price. It is a nice deal. Drink to 2026.
      88 points."
