Bouvet La Petite Bulle Blanc Rose, 75cl
Since 1851, Bouvet Ladubay has been one of France’s greatest producers of méthode traditionnelle sparkling wine, using the Loire Valley’s indigenous Chenin Blanc blended with small amounts of Chardonnay, and using Cabernet Franc for rosé. In 1933, the Monmousseau family purchased the property and today continues to manage this legendary French estate. For Bouvet Ladubay, wine is a living art that must be practiced with wisdom, uniting tradition, experience and the most finely tuned technology in the creation of refined, handcrafted wines of impeccable quality and consistency.
The La petite Bulle translates as "the little bubble" and ithe rose is comprised of the classic Loire variety; Cabernet Franc. The fine and elegant mousse was produced by the fermentation in bottle, known as the Traditional method. A calculated amount of yeast is used in order to bring about a secondary ferementation that is not as vigorous as a full traditional sparkling ferment. This produces a wine with a fine bead and subtle fizz, think of it as a frizzante in style. Raspberry, strawberry and some cherry present on the nose and continue on the palate. The finish is elegant and dry, with notes of red berries lingering.
Food pairing: Goes well with antipasti or seafood or perfect as an aperitif.
