      Tasting Notes and Description
Working with newer clones has changed the shape of material at hand for winemaker Todd Stevens. As these additions to the Pinot vineyards settle down, we see a more fragrant, more supple wine in our glass. The nose has hints of wild fruits and brambles. It is supported by elegantly restrained tannins, gently adding depth to the palate but never intruding. We feel this more feminine version is charming but not weak kneed.

As always Todd maintains that less and more and the wine has the “Neudorfness” we cherish.

Our Moutere Clays provide an European edge - the fruit is kept in check with an uplifting minerality and vibrancy. A wine which never tires or bores but rather offers a full juicy mouthful with a lingering complex finish. Just as the wine flows to the end of your palate there is a surge of flavour maintaining a satisfying mouthfeel.

Definitely drinkable but still precisely Pinot. Proudly unfined and unfiltered.

"Transparent garnet. Rich, frank, easy-to-love nose. Nice freshness on the (dry) finish. Spicy and already accessible. Not heavy and not too sweet. Real charm. Just the job now.
      16.5/20 points."
(Jancis Robinson MW, jancisrobinson.com, April 2020)

"Nelson isn't as famous as some other regions in New Zealand for Pinot Noir, but Neudorf is a top name there. Owners Tim and Judy Finn have produced a beautiful wine here, great value for a NZ Pinot at this level. It has some age, but the bright red fruit is still there in abundance, with structure and complexity, and some forest floor character behind. The wine has spent 10 months in French oak, 20% new. Aromatic, focused and linear, it's a food-friendly wine that you'll find it hard to resist pouring another glass of.
      91 points."
(Amy Wislocki, Decanter Magazine, April 2021)

"30 of the best wines to drink this summer: Pinot noir from New Zealand's South Island that smells of crunchy cherries, redcurrants and cherry blossom. With some time in French oak it also has a gentle background spice but it's really all about red fruit and bright lift."
