This Joven (meaning young or youthful, as it sees no oak aging) which is now labelled simply as 'Tempranillo' wine ages in stainless steel tanks in order to maintain a fresh full-fruit character.
This wine is ruby red with purple highlights. Fresh and fruity, it is a perfect sipper and refreshing even in warmer weather (try it with a slight chill!). The nose shows red berry, blue fruit, and spice, while the palate is medium bodied with food-friendly acidity.
A brilliant party wine or one to savour on its own or with a wide variety of foods including tapas sobrasada (chorizo paste) patés white meats fish and cheese fondues. 13.0% ABV.
"The 2012 Tinto Joven is fermented in stainless steel and sees no oak whatsoever, and has notes of fresh berries and licorice which benefit from some air as sometimes these unoaked wines can be a little reductive. The palate is uncomplicated, fresh and clean, with well-defined flavors of cherries, strawberries and licorice. 86 points."
Commenting on the 2012 vintage.
