Pike & Joyce Adelaide Hills Sirocco Chardonnay 2016, 75cl
A thrilling new addition to our ever expanding, artisanal Australian offerings.
Pike & Joyce is perched high in the Adelaide Hills (593m above sea level) just 40 minutes from the CBD with spectacular 180 degree views of the hills, Onkaparinga Valley and beyond.
Established in 1998, our brand is a partnership between two families who both share a love of the region, a passion for food and viticulture, and a desire to produce only the finest wine.
But what we have created is not just your average cellar door – we have captured the sights, sounds and tastes of the Adelaide Hills in one amazing experience. Perhaps it is no surprise that the Pike & Joyce wines have established a reputation as some of the Adelaide Hills’ finest.
The Adelaide Hills is one of The premier Chardonnay producing regions in Australia and this wine can only add to this reputation. The 2016 “Sirocco” adds to the growing list of outstanding Chardonnays we have produced from our Lenswood site since 2001.
Colour: Medium to pale green, straw tints
Aroma: Subtle yet complex at the same time, this wine displays typical
Adelaide Hills white peach/nectarine fruit as well as cashew like characters, hints of struck match and a little cream in the background.
Palate: The palate is rich and textured displaying white peach, cashew and cream as the main elements. Well balanced acidity adds length and ensures a clean, dry finish.
Drink now and over next 5-8 years. Great with something like pan fried seabass fillet or roast free range chicken.
"Adelaide Hills does what you might call 'silky Chardonnay exceedingly well. White peach, green melon, lime, struck match, vanilla, cashew. Medium bodied, smooth and silky, with just the right amount of white peachy fruit, green olive savoury and spiced oak, fine acidity, light flinty texture and a cool lime-laced finish of super length.
