Herdade do Portocarro - The name of the estate took inspiration from a local high spot, formerly called "carro", the region's highest point. But also on account of the small port which has marked the landscape for many centuries, since the times when transportation was mostly done by river.
Located South of Lisbon, in the Alcácer do Sal district, Torrão parish, the estate overlooks the tiny village of São Romão. This region has been inhabited since ancient times as proven by vestiges of coins and wine amphorae. Traversed by the river Sado, its climate manifests itself in hot, dry Summers and mild, rainy Winters. The temperate Mediterranean weather reflects the region's proximity to the Atlantic ocean.
This name is inspired by the fact that it is a rosé wine made from 100% Sangiovese grapes (hence the name Anima), where only the first quality raw material (tear / loom) is used to obtain a wine of excellence and purity. Very fresh, vibrant acidity, elegant, very exquisite and gastronomic.
Tasting notes: intense yet discreet with notes of tangerine and green plum. In the mouth reveals an extraordinary balance between acidity and sweetness with a refreshing acidity with the presence of citrus notes and red fruits. The wine finishes dry, with a subtle and lingering creaminess on the palate.
