Bodega Montepedroso is a small family bodega set up in 2000 and is part of the Familia Bujanda portfolio. Like all Bujanda operations it is dedicated to making high quality wines. The winery is situated in the province of Valladolid within the Rueda DO. The important climatic characteristic of this region is the contrast of temperature between winter and summer - a key element in obtaining quality wines. In addition the continental climate produces an average of 2700 hours of sun and 407mm of rainfall a year.
Montepedroso or “Mountain of stones” is named for its stony soil that provides good drainage. This wine is made from 100% estate-grown Verdejo harvested at night and fermented by native yeast at low temperatures in stainless steel tanks to preserve aromatics, acidity and freshness. It is then aged sur lie for five months with weekly batonnage to provide additional depth and complexity. Finca Montepedroso is at once a fresh and intense wine, showcasing the true varietal character of the Verdejo grape.
Clean aromatic ensemble, with high intensity. The notes of apricot, peach, fennel, green almond shell, aniseed, fresh fruits (lychee, grapefruit, green apple) show up. Recalls to fresh cut hay, and light smoke touches mixed with mineral notes.
"Finca Montepedroso, Rueda DO, Verdejo 2017 is a great example with exuberant floral, green apple aromas with a wisp of fresh herbs. Round and creamy with apple, melon flavors brightened with citrusy acidity. I was amazed with how long the flavours lingered in my mouth.”

A real favourite with the staff, for those who only drink Sauvignon Blanc but want to try something new this is for you.
"Ripe fruits aromas of melon, apple, pears and hay. Tasty with an oily texture and fresh finish."
