Since its foundation in 1851, Bouvet-Ladubay has been a true historical monument to the Loire Valley sparkling wines. Through over 160 years of history and passion, the winery has developed more than 20 different blends with an unrivalled knowledge and always under its founder Etienne Bouvet's original motto, "l'Excellence".
The origins of Bouvet-Ladubay lie in the "Tuffeau" stone of its cellars. The legend says that Etienne Bouvet found the treasure of the Monks of the 11th Century Abbey of St Florent. In 1987, Patrice Monmousseau uncovers his treasure by creating "Trésor", the first Cuvée of the house aged in oak barrels.
This opulent Chenin Blanc & delightful Chardonnay Cuvée aged in oak barrels reveals a delicate structure : Brioche & Citrusy aromas, a creamy texture & well-balanced tannins.
Particularly good as an apéritif, or with fish dishes in buttery sauces, fruit tarts.
"Wood aged during fermentation, this rich generous wine is the top cuvée from this major Saumur producer. It is rich with apple and citrus flavors backed by a touch of toastiness. The wine is towards dry with a touch of spice at the end. Drink this fine wine now.
