South Africa
Pack of 6 x 750 ml Bottle
Product Description
From South Africa's Winery of the Year as judged by Platter's Wine Guide 2012, Franschhoek's Boekenhoutskloof is rightly regarded as one of South Africa's leading wineries, the only producer to be awarded 5-stars in Robert Parker's 7th Wine Buyers Guide. This blend of Syrah, Grenache Noir, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cinsault and Viognier is matured in 600 litre barrels to retain the unmistakable fruit and freshness of the grapes. Aromas of spiced fruit and violet-infused perfume are followed by striking freshness on the firmly structured palate. Spicy oak aromas cover a rounded mid-palate that reveals layers of fruit with intense purity. This wine has excellent ageing potential and, once mature, will be the perfect accompaniment to rich, gamey dishes.
Press Reviews
South Africans (and many others) will kill for this. Very sweet and opulent. A great, flattering palate massage. (Jancis Robinson Purple Pages, 26 Oct 2012).
Marc Kent's cult red blend is always in demand, so you might need to hurry to buy this. It's as good as ever: plush, sumptuous and aromatic, with sweet, ripe, tarry flavours of Syrah, Grenache, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cinsaut and Viognier, good acidity and lots of smoky, palate-warming fruit. (Tim Atkin MW, timatkin.com, 31 Oct 2012).
Listed by Jancis Robinson in her top 100 recommended wines for Christmas, 8 Dec 2012).

Bodegas Paco Garcia is a newly established winery in Rioja. Respect for tradition is paramount, allied to a reliance on meticulous winemaking and use of state-of-the-art winemaking technology. The Crianza spends 12 months in French oak barrels. it is a modern style of Rioja - fruity, with a touch of oak just to give it roundness and volume on the palate. It is a deep red colour with an aromatic, fruity nose with hints of figs and a suggestion of caramel. On the palate, it is velvety with very good acidity and perfect balance. Flavour nuances of blackberry, coconut and flowers build up to a long and persistent finish. This wine would be a perfect accompaniment to white and red meats, pasta, stews and cheeses. It will age for about 7 years. Ideally, serve at 16°C.
This wine won a Silver Medal in the Decanter World Wine Awards, 2012: Praline, milk chocolate and red licquorice nose over crunchy currants with good mineral support.

Italy
Pack of 6 x 750 ml Bottle
Elisabetta Foradori took over her family's estate at a young age after her father's early death. She inherited a wine culture that had become largely industrial. The dominant clone of teroldego in the area had been selected to emphasize quantity over quality, resulting in anemic, uninteresting wines. She took on the job of studying the history of the grape and over the last 25 years has worked relentlessly to restore its genetic diversity so that the wines would be deeper, purer and more complex. The Toreldego grape is native to Trentino in northern Italy, surviving among ravines and rugged mountainous terrain. The rocky subsoil compose of gravel and alluvial deposits that have flowed from the river Noce nearby provide a perfect breeding ground for a grape that was described in the 19th Century as having "the body and robustness of Bordeaux", yet possesses a combination of elegance, finesse, power and purity that is hard to compare.
"A strikingly beautiful wine, the 2010 Foradori is firing on all cylinders today. Sweet red berries, flowers and mint are some of the notes that emerge from the glass. The 2010 is a decidedly bright, focused wine laced with high-toned aromatics and flavors, all supported by an attractive vein of saline infused minerality. This is one of the most elegant, refined wines I can remember tasting here. The Foradori is essentially the same wine that was previously marketed as Teroldego Rotaliano. Best of all, it is fabulous value. Drinking window: 2013 - 2020. 92 pts." (Antonio Galloni, May 2013).
