Pack of 6 x 750 ml Bottle

Product Description

Cloudy Bay is the standard bearer for Marlborough and New Zealand when it comes to Sauvignon Blanc. The fruit for the Cloudy Bay Marlborough wines comes from the Cloudy Bay Estate vineyard in Rapaura, the "Widow's Block" in Renwick, the "Mustang" vineyard in Brancott Valley and the "Barracks Block" in the Omaka Valley. These sources are supplemented by fruit from a small number of long-time contract growers. The winemakers are Nick Blampied-Lane, Tim Heath and Sarah Burton, with Jim White as viticulturist. They are responsible for Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay, the main white wines made.

Press Reviews

"Bright, pale straw-yellow colour with slight green hues, pale on rim. The nose is full and voluminous, quite complete, with aromas of passionfruit, fresh herbs, gooseberries interwoven harmoniously and deeply concentrated. Dry to taste, subtly rich flavours of passionfruit and limes form an excellent core to the palate. The acidity is in beautiful balance and the flavours flow seamlessly, but with real energy and liveliness. Smooth and softly mouthfilling, with depth and presence, there is nothing out of place, and the wine has a long bright and crisp finish featuring tropical fruit nuances. This is a richly pungent and seamless Sauvignon Blanc to match with seafood, poultry and soft cheeses over the next 2-3 years. Fruit from the Rapaura, Fairhall, Renwick and Brancott sub-regions, fermented in stainless-steel with a small portion in seasond French barriques to 13.5% alc. 19 pts." (Raymond Chan Wine Reviews, Sep 2012).

Pack of 6 x 750 ml Bottle Manual harvesting is th rulke at this idyllic seafront estate in Provence, which is run on biodyanimc principles. The grapes are transported directly to the winery where they are pressed immediately. The juice extraction is slow and delicate and fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks. The wine is beautifully delicate, clear and bright, the nose offering a bouquet of subtle flavours. The palate is elegant, sensual and full with a hint of raspberries and a lingering complexity.
40% Grenache, 40% Cinsault, 20% Cabernet Sauvignon. Just a little paler and bluer than the regular bottling. Benefits from the freshness of the Cabernet. Lovely seductive texture and balance. Bone dry finish with real succulence. It might last longer than I suggest but I'm not sure what one would be waiting for. Very well judged. 16.5 pts. (Jancis Robinson Purple Pages, 9 May 2012).

Reyneke Reserve White 2009 Pk6

Pack of 6 x 750 ml Bottle Light straw-green in colour, this oranically produced, barrel fermented Sauvignon Blanc has intense notes of grapefruit, crushed rocks, melons, and honeysuckle in its perfumed and flavourful personality. All these aromas follow through to the medium-bodied, crisp, flavourful palate. Best served chilled.
This wine received a 4.5 star rating in Platter's South African Wines, 2011: Complex aromas with whitecurrant intensity, ripe granadilla, pure lime. Concentrated palate with bright citrus acid, ripe pineapple, mineral and persistent end. Integrated. 16 months oak (80%new) adds finesse.
"Sourced from the best parcels within the three plots of Sauvignon Blanc and raised in Allier new oak, the 2009 Reserve White has a very refined bouquet with well-integrated new oak with hints of bruised apple, limestone, a touch of citrus peel. The palate is very well balanced with very pure fruit: subtle notes of almond, walnut and a hint of spice leading to a very composed finish. This is a wonderful Sauvignon with superb persistence. Drink 2012-2018 93 pts." (Neal Martin, eRobertParker.com, Aug 2011).
Some richer, nutty, toasty notes here but it is still super-fresh and mineral. Tingly, lively. Brilliantly mineral and complex with some richness but also vibrancy and warm oak and matchstick characters. Mandarin, tangerine and grapefruit flavours. Will age beautifully. 94/100. (Jamie Goode, wineanorak.com, Feb 2013).
